Well the second month in has me still awkward, embarrassed and regretting this project. But even though I’ll be red-faced as I hit the ”publish” button on this post, I’m sticking to it. Maybe by November I’ll be able to do it with ease!

What I found out this month about myself is when I don’t smile, I look pretty moody. Which makes me think about my actual mood and whether I really am, or if thats simply how I appear. It’s been a stressful month, so maybe it’s that. Or maybe it’s because I had heartburn when taking the photos and my belly is large and uncomfortable. Or maybe I’m just moody? (Zip the lip, Phil)

But I really did learn the difference my own smile makes. Do you smile enough? When you are alone? When you’re walking down the street? When you don’t think anyone is watching? I know I’m going to try to do it more. Because I don’t feel moody so I certainly don’t want to look it. I’m very slowly turning my normal self-consciousness into self-awareness. And here it is only February. Hmm. (If I could triple finger snap with a neck roll without pulling a muscle, I would throw one in here.)

So in the spirit of drama, and my moody appearance, some grainy black and whites seemed to suit the month.

If their dad isn’t worried yet, he will be in just a few short years. These sisters are stunning, and it obviously runs in the family. This is the first of three newborn sessions I had before the end of the year. If I weren’t already pregnant, seeing this sweet little girl would bring on the baby fever fast.

A beautiful family and a beautiful bond between these sisters. It’s one of my most favorite things in the world.

Cheeks and a beautiful day

Way back in December this was one of my last sessions before the holidays. It was chilly, but a beautiful day and I am so glad the family decided to venture out into the wind for some outdoor shots. The little guy was so good even though he was sleepy and cold. But I got some shots of the beautiful light with this beautiful family. And to top it off, I had a lot of fun doing it!
